Lauren Holly's official website offers news, exclusive photos, and up-to-the-minute information on the actress's latest projects. Here's a story she posted about her experience as Jenny Shepard on NCIS:
...I was living in a Chicago suburb raising my three boys when I got the call about being on the show. It was a guest-starring arc that would be about six episodes. The role was of the new Director of the agency, and things were made complicated because she had a ´past’ with the lead agent, Jethro , played by Mark Harmon.
Getting the role
The funny thing was, I knew of the show from a couple of years before. Mark and I had spent a year together on ”Chicago Hope,” and so became acquaintances from work. As I understood it, they were having some trouble casting the girl who would be one of the agents on the show and Mark thought I might fit the bill. He faxed me a lot of info on the real agency on which the show was based and helped facilitate a meeting between myself and the creator, Don Bellisario. That was an exciting meeting for me to have. He had been involved in some of the greatest television - “Rockford Files,” “Magnum PI,” etc. We had a great chat, and I tried to make him love me, but alas - he did not.
Navy CIS (NCIS) premiered on CBS on September 23, 2003. This series is an action drama inspired by the hit series JAG, about a team of special agents whose mission is to investigate any crime that has a shred of evidence connected to Navy and Marine Corps personnel, regardless of rank or position. Leading this team that operates outside the military chain of command is NCIS Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs, a skilled investigator and interrogator who is smart, tough and willing to bend the rules to get the job done. Working under Gibbs is Agent Anthony Dinozzo, a former homicide detective who joined NCIS just a few years ago, but who has instincts that can come only from working on the streets. Joining them is Agent Abby Sciuto, a gifted forensic scientist whose dark wit matches her goth-style hair and clothes, and Dr. Donald "Ducky" Mallard, a medical examiner. From murder and espionage to terrorism and stolen submarines, these special agents traverse the globe to investigate all crimes with Navy or Marine Corps ties. (Source: Pazsaz)

Crossover stunts have become as ubiquitous as season-ending character deaths. And let’s face it, more times than not they’re probably conceived at a network marketing retreat instead of inside a writers room — which is probably why many of them come off feeling like blatant ratings-boosting promotional gimmicks. But I’m here to tell you that this week’s NCIS/NCIS: LA mash-up is different, and I can give you at least two reasons why. First off, it revolves around the undeniably awesome Pauley Perrette. And second, because it results in the first face-to-face encounter between Abby and Linda Hunt’s Hetty — a memorable run-in you won’t have to wait ’till tomorrow night to watch thanks to the following CBS first look… (Continued with Video)
Forensic scientist Abby Sciuto joins the Los Angeles NCIS team when a murder case resembles the pattern for a serial killer she has been tracking, on NCIS: LOS ANGELES, Tuesday, Nov. 24 (Video Clips CBS.com).
While production has taken over the work, the script of first episode of season 7 (61 pages) was distributed to all concerned. New sets were made during the summer break and will be used for this seventh season. Here's an exclusive summary of NCIS episode 7 x 01. (From Team-NCIS)
Abstract: The Gibbs team is immersed in a drug case in the Navy. Two are dead in the morgue and a quarter-master is in critical condition. It would appear that the drug was ingested without their knowledge.
